Money gives you independence. I saved my money. I had a horse, I paid for my own agistment out of my own pocket. I had to do my own finances, manage my own money, make my own money. ”
Design
This story demanded a design that could convey pizazz, noise, movement, and the kind of restless exuberance that captures the spirit of the entrepreneur. I chose to keep the silhouette simple and put the movement into the embellishment.
Block chain and bitcoins were the latest wave of technology, and they are captured in the “windows” in the coat. The entrepreneur in the story was plunging into the “opportunity” with optimism and a firm belief in future possibilities and her ability to place herself in the stream of those possibilities.
Fabric
The coin braid seemed to add an apt, sparkling, carnival atmosphere to the coat to capture the entrepreneur’s lifestyle and beliefs.
The shiny black fabric has a sheen as well as a rustle. It is difficult to handle, creasing and crumpling under the slightest pressure. The embellishment is created with coin shapes of various sizes scattered across the coat in a haphazard pattern, some solid, some translucent, all have a metallic sheen to them.
